The olive mill
of Apostle Lucas
A traditional olive mill is located in the village of Palaichori Morfou.
The olive mill lies in the churchyard of the Saint Lucas.
It is kept in a one-room parallelogram building on the south of
the old building. It has a roof, covered with roman-type tiles.
It must be noted that the olive mill is well preserved. Not only
the mill is saved, but also a part of the miller’s equipment, such
as the press, jars and a basin made of clay.
The Antiquity Department renovated the traditional olive mill in
1993. Half of the money needed was donated by the Anastassios G.
Leventis Foundation.
